The Connecticut State Police Department of Public Safety was quite busy over the holiday weekend--and we're not talking about grilling out.

The department wrote 2,013 speeding tickets and 978 seat-belt violations to go along with 70 DWI arrests. The State Police reported 260 accidents and four fatalities.

Plenty of states staged Memorial Day crackdowns on drunk driving and speeding, and despite plenty of news coverage, plenty of motorists still broke the law and were caught.

Drive safe this summer.
