newVideoPlayer("LincolnDoor_gawker.flv", 506, 423,""); The old disappearing doors Lincoln concept car, a sensation that swept the nation (or at least the internet) back in July, 2007 (a sensation we started right here at Jalopnik ) is now up for sale again on eBay. So for any of you kiddies looking for a Black Friday steal and deal, snap up the 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII Prototype Concept Car with doors that disappear under the car. Be wary however, as this concept car seems to head back to eBay every six months or so. Probably because nobody can figure out how to get that pesky driver's side door to work right. Get it now while you still can because the auction on this one-of-a-kind rarity of a minor internet meme ends at 10:00 PM EST Sunday night. Look at it this way, it's like owning Rick Astley at the start of his second career as a rick-roller . [via eBay ]

This is the first image of the Volvo S60 Concept, set to debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show . Volvo is calling the concept a preview of the 2010 Volvo S60. Volvo had better be careful or people will completely forget about the nameplate's stodgy past as the S60 concept is almost beautiful beyond belief. It takes on one of the final remaining traditional Volvo design elements, those normally straight, strong shoulder lines running font to back are reinterpreted in a curvaceous, smooth, sinewy line. The headlights are swept up and back and the roof line at the C-pillar is combined with the line of the trunk lid similar to what we've seen in the latest S40. Obviously the giant wheels and crystalline center stack mentioned won't make it to production and the suicide doors don't really jive with Volvo's safety mantra, but holy damn that's a beautiful car. A high-resolution image is available here and currently available details can be had below. FIRST IMAGE OF THE VOLVO...

The Linian is a cooperative project between the Guangzhou Automotive Group (GAG) and Honda, bringing together the visual aspects of a Honda S2000 , new Nissan 370Zish headlights and just a touch of Saturn Astra in the rear. There are no details available regarding engine choices, drive layout or just about any information at all for that matter (probably because it will never be produced). The badge adorning that scowl of a front fascia is neither GAG, nor is it Honda, meaning this is most likely the logo of the newly established GAG-Honda design studio. Just imagine all of the tasty vittles just waiting to pour out of that dream factory . [ ABChina ] galleryPost('gaghondalinian', 3, 'Droptop GAG');

Nissan just released this blurry sketch of a new commercial van concept sized somewhere between a Ford Transit Connect and a Dodge Sprinter and officially set to see an unveil at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Nissan also tells us to expect a production model to go on sale here in the US some time around 2010. We love big panel vans like this, they’re possibly the most practical work vehicles around and this one, with Nissan Cube -like styling is particularly appealing. Lets just hope they offer it with a diesel and a manual transmission. The full release follows the jump and click here for a high-resolution shot of the concept. Nissan NV2500 Concept Set For Debut Nissan North America, Inc. today announced its Nissan NV2500 Concept, which makes its public debut in early January at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. One of the largest concepts vehicle ever created by Nissan, the innovative NV2500 Concept previews the company's entry into the North American...

It may not be the spiritual successor to the CRX HF, but the Honda Civic HFP Concept is the result of Honda Access America — the in-house accessory division — taking a Civic Si and adding lightness. Both exhaust and wheels have been replaced with high-performance ultra-lightweight versions, while an aero body kit streamlines the cD for a slipperier shape. So how much more efficient is the HFP? Well...they don't quite say, but we'd venture a guess that Honda's working in one or two MPG increments here. Press release below the jump. galleryPost('hondacivichfpsema', 9, 'Efficiency By Adding Lightness'); Honda also revealed a Civic Honda Factory Performance (HFP) Concept sedan that represents a new approach on performance improvement. With more consumer concern about fuel prices, future customers may want to maximize the performance of their vehicles without compromising fuel economy. Honda Access America, Honda's accessory development company, took...

The MDI Airpod is a minuscule concept which mates a compressed air engine similar to the one that'll go in the Tata Nano with wacky futuristic styling and a tiny footprint perfect for city dwellers intent on automotive-assisted suicide. At just 81.5 inches long and 63 inches wide, the Airpod manages to hold three people and a child along with its compressed air tank, the zero-emissions engine, a joystick for steering, and not much else. Our first response upon seeing this latest transportation concept? "Sweet hellish death trap!" Regardless, production may begin as early as the spring of 2009, with crumpled green piles of air car popping up on roadways shortly thereafter. galleryPost('mdiairpod', 6, 'Hilarious and Terrifying'); [ MDI (translated), Yahoo Finance ]

Chevy revealed the GPiX — for Global Picture — crossover concept at the Sao Paulo Auto Show in Brazil earlier this week. The two-door crossover offers high ground clearance for traversing the stumps of burned-out rainforests, and was designed at GM's Brazilian design center using Chevy's new international design language. In one of the strangest statements by a GM exec ever, Carlos Barba, GM director of design for Latin America said "It offers the sporty design and versatility necessary for a country with the continental dimensions of Brazil." We have no idea what's supposed to mean, but the presser is below if you want to figure it out for yourself. galleryPost('chevygpixbrazil', 9, 'The Chevy GPiX - Check Continental Dimensions Carefully Before Purchasing'); Chevrolet Reveals the GPiX Crossover Coupe Concept Sao Paulo, Brazil - General Motors revealed the Chevrolet GPiX crossover coupe concept today at the 25th edition of the Sao Paulo...

Appearing at the Sao Paulo Auto Show in Brazil, the Renault Sandero Sand'up concept is a drop-top beach buggy hiding a Sandamino surprise. The Sand'up can convert from a closed coupe body to a convertible pickup using an innovative modular design — just the thing for hauling Rosewood out of the rain forest to burn at your Carnival beach party! With a flex-fuel 1.6-liter engine capable of burning gasoline or the plentiful cane-juice ethanol found south of the equator, the Sand'up actually looks like a lot of fun — though we're wondering how see-through doors stand up in side impact collisions. We'd like to tell you more but the press release is entirely in French. While we don't speak the frog-based language all too well, hit the jump and have your way with it you freedom-hating, beret-wearing baguette-eater. You know, if you're not busy. galleryPost('renaultsandup', 9, 'Her Name Is Rio'); AU SALON DE SAO PAULO,RENAULT DEVOILE ìSANDíUP...

PML and Ford have been palling around for a while now, most recently to develop the Volvo Recharge C30 concept . Now they've gone in on an in-wheel electric drive plug-in hybrid Ford F-150 concept coming to SEMA . The in-wheel motors are a clever brushed pancake design that act as a part of the wheel and not just another add-in part. We've often thought hybrid tech would be best developed in the pickup market, where high torque matters and light weight and great driving dynamics don't. Don't be surprised if we go poking around this truck when we hit the show floor in Vegas. [ Pickuptrucks.com ]
