Yeah, we said it: The Chevy Orlando Concept shown here on the Paris Auto Show floor is the spiritual successor to the Pontiac Aztek . And in this case, we mean that as a complement: The Aztek had a ton of great interior features going for it, and the Chevy Orlando takes that post-minivan people-mover spirit and wraps it in sharp-looking sheet metal. The Orlando seats seven, has five doors and is based on the Cruze platform, meaning it has a shot at actually being really fuel-efficient, particularly with its Euro 2-liter diesel. We're not sure how much fun it would be hauling seven folks around with a 1.4-liter turbo motor here in the states, though, so it'll be interesting to see how — and if — it evolves for our market. galleryPost('orlandoextparis', 9, 'Chevy Orlando Concept On The Paris Show Floor'); galleryPost('orlandointeriorparis', 12, 'Inside The Seven-Passenger Chevy Orlando Concept'); Chevrolet Orlando show car signals entry...

Thanks to what looks like a photo shoot of some kind, we're getting a detailed first look at the upcoming Chevy Orlando , a concept vehicle set for worldwide debut next week at the Paris Motor Show . The Orlando is based on the same platform as the 2010 Chevy Cruze and shares a lot of the interior and instrument panel styling elements. But when you go outside, things go a bit crazy. GM seems to have drawn inspiration from the movie Tron and given the Orlando a healthy dash of dramatic blue lighting. Check out the color-changing neon rings around the side-view mirrors and the rings around the door handles. We also don't exactly know what the heck is going on with the neon blue sunroof, but it sure looks futuristic, don't it? Maybe they should have called it the Chevy Lightcycle concept. We'll be bringing you the details on the what-for's on all this craziness as we get more info. For the moment, enjoy the early live look. galleryPost('orlandoconceptshots', 12...

We know Chevy probably will beat us over the head with how family-friendly and roomy the Chevy Orlando concept is as its shroud drops at the Paris Motor Show , but naming it after the kid-centric megabux epicenter of Disney just seems a bit extreme. The seven passenger minivan " multi-purpose vehicle with distinctive sport utility-like design " is based on the same platform the 2010 Chevy Cruze rides on and is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbodiesel we Yankees will never see. The press release, dancing like Fred Astaire around the strings of the letters "SUV" and "minivan," is below the fold and another picture more than the two we already had, below. Sorry, they didn't actually have the Orlando here at the GM Paris preview, just on the tube overhead. galleryPost('orlandoconcept ', 3, 'Chevy Orlando Concept'); Chevrolet Orlando show car signals entry into new segment for the brand Paris Motor Show Preview: First Images of the seven-seat...

Here are the first details and photos of the new Chevy Orlando concept MPV ahead of the official reveal at the Paris Motor Show next month. The Orlando, a seven-seat family vehicle based on the Cruze platform, drops it squarely into territory currently occupied here in the states by the Mazda5 and...not much else. The three rows of seating are arranged theater-style for better occupant visibility, and of course, they all fold flat for minivan-like cargo capacity. The photos show a sportier exterior than what we're used to seeing from the MPV market, as well as Malibu cues on the dash and front passenger compartment — all good things, and something we hope to see at our local Chevy dealer toward the beginning of the next decade. Press release after the jump. galleryPost('chevyorlandoparis', 3, 'The Only Thing Orlando And Paris Have In Common'); Chevrolet Orlando show car signals entry into new segment for the brand Zurich - The Orlando show car, making its world...
