Ben smuggled back a couple gigs of additional images from the Paris Motor Show last week, including these shots inside and out of the Mini Crossover Concept . We got a live look at the diminutive soft-roader last week during the show, but these images give you quite a bit more detail, particularly of the laser globe center stack thingamajig. The whole car has kind of a split personality: It's the biggest Mini yet actually appears, from certain angles, more true to the original Mini than the regular version of the car. We'll see what the results are should they make it into showrooms. Press release reproduced after the jump. galleryPost('miniext2paris', 9, 'Mini Crossover Concept In Paris'); galleryPost('miniint2paris', 12, 'You Think iDrive Is A Pain In The Ass'); The MINI Crossover Concept. BMW's latest — and smallest — new crossover concept is the BMW X1 , seen here on the floor yesterday at the Paris Auto Show . It looks a little more robust in person than when we saw leaked press shots earlier in the week, but it's still hard to get excited about another crossover, particularly one that looks, and is bound to drive, like the underwhelming X3 we already have, only with less room. If BMW had managed to turn the potential of the 1-series into reality, we might be singing a different tune. They didn't, so we aren't. Press release after the jump. galleryPost('x1parislive', 9, 'The BMW Concept X1 Is Where Your M Car Dollars Have Gone'); The First Sports Activity Vehicle in the Premium Compact Segment: The BMW Concept X1. Yeah, we said it: The Chevy Orlando Concept shown here on the Paris Auto Show floor is the spiritual successor to the Pontiac Aztek . And in this case, we mean that as a complement: The Aztek had a ton of great interior features going for it, and the Chevy Orlando takes that post-minivan people-mover spirit and wraps it in sharp-looking sheet metal. The Orlando seats seven, has five doors and is based on the Cruze platform, meaning it has a shot at actually being really fuel-efficient, particularly with its Euro 2-liter diesel. We're not sure how much fun it would be hauling seven folks around with a 1.4-liter turbo motor here in the states, though, so it'll be interesting to see how — and if — it evolves for our market. galleryPost('orlandoextparis', 9, 'Chevy Orlando Concept On The Paris Show Floor'); galleryPost('orlandointeriorparis', 12, 'Inside The Seven-Passenger Chevy Orlando Concept'); Chevrolet Orlando show car signals entry...

Squint just right and you’ll be able to see what the Saab 9-1 will look like. The Saab 9-X Air seeks to interpret traditional design cues into a more modern, smaller package that will be both fun to drive, uniquely luxurious and economical. The most successful par of the vehicle isn’t its proposed 1.4-liter turbocharged bioethanol hybrid powertrain, but its seriously nice interior, which does a great drop of adapting strikingly contemporary design themes into a friendly, welcoming package. It’s light years ahead of the plasticy, cheap interiors offered in the current models. Please Saab, find a way to bring something like this to market. Full details follow in the remarkably straight-forward press release, just ignore that whole fake “born from jets” thing. galleryPost('9xairlive', 12, 'Saab 9-X Air'); 9-X Air BioHybrid Concept World Premiere at Paris Auto Show Detroit - The 9-X Air Concept is a design vision exploring what a future open-air Saab could look like. newVideoPlayer("/ConceptGT.flv", 506, 423,""); We had a chance this morning to be one of the first to drive the GTbyCITROEN Concept on Gran Turismo 5: Prologue at the Paris Auto Show . The car, easily the hottest concept here at the show, was designed as a joint venture between Citroen and Polyphony Digital, the makers of Gran Turismo. We'll gladly admit we are not virtuosos of GT5, as we should be, but once we figured out what everything did, it was off to the races. By our uncalibrated estimates, the GTbyCITROEN has a tendency to oversteer more than we expected, but it is fast, and it'll handle high speeds pretty well. Oh, and after we took a look inside the concept, we were interested to see that dash provides a sweet heads-up unit displaying current velocity. We totally need to get a PS3. galleryPost('gtbycitroenlive', 6, 'GTbyCITROEN Exterior'); galleryPost('GTbyCitroenInterior', 6, 'GTbyCITROEN Interior');

We saw the first official press shots of the Mazda Kiyora earier this morning, but we dug the flowing Nagare design language so much we had to hunt it down on the show floor and check it out in the flesh. As you can tell from these live shots, it certainly didn't disappoint and Mazda seriously needs to figure out a way to bring these designs to production. We're not demanding anything ridiculous like a Furai (though we wouldn't mind it), but even an otherwise boring hatch like this Kiyora looks fantastic with the Nagare styling. Rather than stress their mind grapes in an attempt to create a new design direction, Peugeot instead chose to merge two popular designs from previous auto shows into the Peugeot RC HYmotion4. This mid-sized sports sedan is essentially a hybrid of the Peugeot 308 RC Z coupe concept and the full-sized 908 RC concept, but this time powered by the HYmotion drivetrain that features a small gas engine in the trunk and an electric motor under the hood. Though we're not sure of production plans for this sedan, the designers managed to expertly capture the "four-door coupe" proportions. Let's hope that doesn't go to waste. Press release below the jump. galleryPost('RCHymotion4', 9, 'Live From Paris - Rock And Roll RC HYmotion4'); RC HYmotion4: magic in the making. Citroën has, thus far, come up with arguably the most radical and intriguing vehicle at the Paris Auto Show with the GTbyCITROËN , a joint venture with the makers of the Gran Turismo video game series. The aggressive and futuristic design language is continued inside with a generous use of metallic surfaces and an F1-inspired steering wheel that appears set up to display information. There doesn't appear to be a typical gauge cluster, making us wonder if the GT uses some sort of heads-up display integrated into the wraparound windshield. The entire setup, in keeping with the Gran Turismo theme, is driver-focused. galleryPost('GTbyCitroenInterior', 8, 'Can You Control Your Inner Dragon?'); galleryPost('gtbycitroenlive', 6, 'GT By Citroen - Live And In The Video Flesh');

Meet the latest in a long line of terrifying mid-engined French hot-hatches, the Renault Megane Trophy. The Trophy, revealed today at the Paris Motor Show , is just like the new 2009 Renault Megane , but completely different. The French unquestionably know how to make a great hot hatch, but if there's one thing they do even better it's taking those little cars and sticking a big engine where the back seat is supposed to go. Inside, you'll find a 3.5-liter Nissan-sourced V6 tuned to churn out 360 HP. That power is sent to the rear wheels via a paddle-shift sequential gearbox, resulting in performance that Renault claims is on par with the Porsche 911 GT3. The only problem is that it's not road car, and is destined only to compete in a spec-series for the car. Press release after the jump. galleryPost('RenaultMeganeTrophyLive', 12, 'Renault Megane Trophy'); NEW MEGANE TROPHY: ON TRACK FOR THE 2009 WORLD SERIES BY RENAULT Having starred in the World Series by...

Yeah, OK, so Lamborghini was teasing us for what seemed like forever on the Lamborghini Estoque , the automakers new four-door "concept car." Not since the LM002 has the bull-headed brand put out a vehicle with a backseat, and that was a beautiful bastard for the brand anyway. No, the real money shot for this car wasn't the outside, it was what the backseat would look like. We can conclusively say — Lambo knows their rear seats — they look plush as all get out. However, we'd have preferred a bench. So come on, you Italian Stallions, hop to it! galleryPost('LamborghiniEstoqueInt', 9, 'I Want To Feel The Estoque From The Inside');

Mini just revealed their Mini Crossover Concept — the first SUV from the diminutive BMW brand — here at the Paris Motor Show . The concept car's supposedly a first look at what we should expect from the 2011 Mini Crossman . Now that we've seen it live and in the flesh we can conclusively say — it looks like a Mini Clubman with lifts and an extra full-size door for fun on the passenger side. Want to know more? We just caught the Nissan NuVu , a concept that, as we said earlier , is meant to reveal the next generation styling of the next Nissan Micra. Frankly, the concept's as cute as its name (a play on words meaning "New View" as in "a new view on the Micra"). The interior is just as bubbly as the exterior, with the "2+1 seating arrangement" apparently designed with midget strippers in mind — it comes complete with a mini-stripper pole and a "double-dong" steerng wheel. We're sure hoping the Micra ends up with both in the final production version. OK, maybe not. Also, we're told this little bubble-topped concept's got an electric drivetrain. Does this mean the next Micra will see the Nissan electric engine slide under the bonnet? Only time will tell. Check out the full press release (again) in all its enormity, below the jump. galleryPost('NissanNuvuLive', 9, 'Nissan Shows An Askew View Of The Next Micra'); NUVU: RESHAPING...

At the end of 2007, Smart leased 100 smart twofours equipped with electric drive in London for a pilot project to gain real-world experience with electric drive. But here, at the Paris Motor Show , is the first time Smart's brought it to the auto show stage. So, here it is — an electric drive Smart fourtwo that's almost commonplace on the streets of London revealed at an auto show for the first time. How's THAT for an exclusive? Hit the jump for the full press release and a picture describing how the electric drive works. The Mercedes ConceptFASCINATION is both a preview of the styling of the already-spotted-nude 2010 Mercedes E-Class , but is mocked up here as a shooting brake with a trunk full of the kind of aspirational lifestyle accessories that exist together only in the pages of wanky magazines or in the minds of Mercedes execs.
