Part coupe and part notchback, the new Kia Koup concept car hints at a design language to come. This new direction includes ditching the friendly, rounded edges of the old Kia and replacing them with a crisper and more angular look that borrows heavily from Acura. The Koup also points towards performance aspirations with its tweaked version of the company's 2.0-Liter Theta II four-cylinder engine, which produces 289 lb.-ft. of torque and 290 HP thanks to twin-scroll turbochargers and a new direct injection system. Though none of this changes the fact that it's a Kia concept, we hope it means a change in what it is to be a Kia. The company claims the Koup is a production-ready vehicle that we could see sooner than later. There's something fishy going on at BMW this morning. We're pretty sure what you see here is just the BMW CS Concept that was shown in Shanghai last year, but some part of us is wishing it's the new luxury flagship that's allegedly being developed along the concept's lines, or maybe even the 2010 5-series . We'll see at 11:10 when the wraps come off. galleryPost('nycbmwsecret', 6, 'Secret NY BMW');

We'd heard rumors in the past few weeks about Acura bringing some sort of two-door concept car here to the New York Auto Show , but we couldn't actually verify that. We still can't -- at least not until the 9:40 AM press conference. But, as the show floor is now open, we took a quick run around for fun and found the following sheet-covered car. Is it an Acura TSX coupe concept? Is it an Acura TL coupe concept? Maybe it's a Honda coupe concept? Are we seeing things? We guess Wert'll find out for certain in a couple of hours.

Well, Suzuki seems like they're pushing for some school yard respect. Motor Authority is spreading a rumor that the company will be coming at us at either the New York Auto Show or Chicago Auto Show with a revised Suzuki Kizashi. We first saw the original Kizashi at the Frankfurt Auto Show and it was the stuff dreams are made of then. This time, it seems the car will more closely resemble the kind of thing people might actually drive, telegraphing a possible production model. The new concept could be equipped with a V8, as well as all wheel drive, replacing the hybridized four cylinder in the older concept. That's the kind of revision we can get behind.
