Pictures may have been enough for some, but we wanted to see the Nissan GT-R SpecV in action. Then this little gem landed in our lap along with details of the new Super-Godzilla. We actually have no idea what is being said in this video, but we can assume Nissan is calling out Porsche and anyone else who wants to step up and play with its new toy. We think it's due time for another 'Ring showdown. We also wanted more details and a couple of quick phone calls over to Nissan of North America got us the following: - The SpecV's got the same 478 horses as the stock GT-R, but you'll be able to boost mid-range torque up to a whopping 449 lb-ft via an electronic overboost control switch on the steering wheel. - The SpecV's "overboost" will enable up to 1 minute, 20 seconds of added torque before shutting off. - Weight savings of 44 lb. from new ceramic Brembo brakes added to other weight savings like carbon fiber everything, giving the new super-Godzilla a weight...

We happened upon this preview of the Sync concept from CES installed in a concept car sharing the same marketing visuals as the Lincoln brand. We're assuming we'll see it at the Detroit Auto Show .

newVideoPlayer("/TodayVolt.flv", 506, 423,""); We knew the Chevy Volt would increase global levels of smugness. Here's Matt Lauer, crowing about being the first to drive it to CNBC 's Phil LeBeau — and that was only a test vehicle!

newVideoPlayer("/Volvo-S60-Dash.flv", 494, 371,""); This video on the creation of the all-crystal center console in the Volvo S60 Concept , debuting at the Detroit Auto Show , is so Swedish, it should just have the title "Bork, bork, bork!" Apparently Sweden has a native crystal industry, at least in the form of Orrefors Kosta Boda (say that three times fast) which has partnered with Volvo on the creation of a very pretty, but ultimately fantastical center console. Looks pretty pricey too if you ask us. Guess that's just Ford waving its fat money bags under bailed-out competitors noses. This probably means we won't be allowed to wear our hammer pants when crawling all over the interior for pictures. And since when was it unofficial Volvo news day? galleryPost('VolvoS60ConceptP', 20, ''); [Source: Volvo]

It's 1967. A softly spoken, well-dressed young man named Evel Knievel is about to, on ABC's Wide World of Sports, attempt something no one else ever had: jumping a motorcycle over 15 cars. Let's watch. Luckily, the Wide World Of Sports was on hand to cover the motocross race for which Evel’s jump was a sideshow. They heard about the jump, thought it might make a neat segment and launched the career of America’s most famous stuntman.

Bear-Shark it ain't, but hit play to see a Volkswagen SpaceFox commercial starring the Fish-Dog (or maybe Dog-Fish), the strangest animal hybrid combination since ManBearPig . Almapp BBDO of San Paulo, Brazil created this interesting spot for the South American VW SpaceFox. At the end of the ad a tagline is shown saying the SpaceFox can be "anything you imagine," but its not quite a hybrid so we're a bit confused by the connotation. If it could be anything we'd imagine, we'd make the SpaceFox a fauxrrari and promote it with the way more badass hybridized human-dog . Regardless, its a creative piece of advertising that somehow makes us crave sashimi after watching. Don't stand by me little dog-fish, you're creeping me out. [via YouTube ]

An F-150 saved an Atlanta area gas station and convenience store from an almost certain fiery death at the hands of a diabetes-afflicted Jeep driver on New Year's Day. Yowza. Video below. [ wsbtv via CNN ]

The cinematic qualities of most automotive videos leaves us wanting more, but Advan Tech Studio knows what we crave. The video proof after the jump gets us real hot and bothered for the weekend. We showed you a little 30 frame-per-second video of a Mustang burnout last summer and little did we know the awesome cinematic genius behind it was Advan Tech Studios. Take a peak below at the awesome collection of their work from 2008. [ Advan Tech Studios via TeamSpeed ]

Japanese chicks, E36 3-Series, cowboy hats, 9,500 RPM, 250 HP Honda S2000 engines, short skirts, race drivers. All of those things appear in this video. After watching it, we’re inexplicably happy, but aren’t quite sure what just happened to us. Somehow, a tuned S2000 motor has found its way into a modified E36 , which then found its way into the hands of a rubber-glove wearing driving god with a sexy sidekick. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the cameraman for combining our new favorite things — upskirt and massively over-revving tachometers — into the same shots. I think we’ve found our new heroes, the good men of Best Motoring . [via Streetfire ]

newVideoPlayer("/car_azy_NY2009.flv", 506, 423,""); Rhys Millen , Steve Millen's most daring nephew, will again attempt to do a backflip in a specially-designed truck during New Year's Eve. The back-breaking practice video of him failing makes us nervous. According to Millen, who will be performing the stunt outside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for the cameras, he has to be within one mph and one inch to make the truck backflip and not destroy him. We'll be crossing our fingers he does better than he did in the first practice run shown here. [ EXPN ]

We gave you the info late last night about Ford's new Active Park Assist . Now here's video of the system in action along with the first look at the 2010 MKS's paddle shifters. Ford's Active Park Assist looks to be much more controlled than the system Lexus debuted on the LS460 and will be available as an option on the 2010 Lincoln MKS and the upcoming 2010 Lincoln MKT crossover that will debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month. Active Park Assist will accompany Ford's new Electric Power Assisted Steering in the 2010 Lincoln MKS and MKT and will be featured in the rest of Ford's lineup in 2012. A new six-speed auto-transmission with steering wheel flappy paddle shifters will be available on the 2010 Lincoln MKS and upcoming 2010 Ford Taurus . You'll notice them in the video above if you're paying attention. It's the first time these new shifters have been spotted in the wild. [ YouTube via Ford]

newVideoPlayer("/VW-Golf-Ad-Matrix.flv", 506, 423,""); Here's an awesome ad for the new VW Golf created by British ad agency DDB London. The stylish spot pits the "Chief Designer" against clones of himself in a Matrixesque fight scene. If designers and engineers at Volkswagen are this tough, we're wondering how they let Porsche take over the company . Also enjoy what sounds like a German cover of "Right Place, Wrong Time" by Dr. John. [ Youtube ]
