Chevy has released a single teaser-style image of their 2008 SEMA show-bound Camaro Black, described only as "a dark and mysterious interpreta." We're pretty sure they meant "interpretation" but ran into character limitations in their imaging software. Regardless, the Camaro Black show car actually looks to be a gunmetal gray based on the photo and appears decked out with a sinister-looking body kit and the requisite SEMA monster alloy wheels shod in low-profile rubber. The red glow from the headlights may also indicate some sort of LED illumination kit, but what you see is all we know at this point; we'll either get a constant dribble of teasers a-la 2010 Mustang or just bring you the goods from the Vegas show floor in two weeks. galleryPost('camaroblacksema', 1, 'Camaro Black Is A Dark And Mysterious Interpreta');

The 2010 Chevy Camaro fans over at Camaro5 have snapped some shots of the factory accessories from the unveil of the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS this weekend that’ll be available for the new muscle car from the American Revolution. In addition to the usual chrome wheels and cold air intakes, there will be a range of — how should we say this? — less tasteful bolt-ons including a high wing, colored engine parts, ground effect bodykits and color-matched lighted interior trim pieces. The full list, courtesy of Camaro5 , follows the jump. Oh, and if the tarted-up red Camaro looks familiar, maybe it's because we've seen it once before . galleryPost('camaroaccessories', 4, '2010 Camaro Accessories'); LIST OF PERFORMANCE PARTS / ACCESSORIES - HUD will be available in June 2010 SOP (2011 MY) - molded rear fender splash guards will be avail - High wing spoiler (5 colors) and ground effects avail - Hood and Hockey stripe (3 colors) - Rally Stripe (5 colors) (according to Scott...all...

The fate of the Chevy Beat is still in limbo for US markets , but as we see here, that isn't stopping the ongoing development of the latest GM minicar. The Beat gets a buddy for some hot weather testing and we get a look at the interior for the first time. For a subcompact, it's hard to be surprised by the spartan accommodations and the long-handled shifter, but we do like the floating gauge pod mounted directly to what appears to be a tilting steering column. Coupled with a high seating arrangement and supposedly true-to-concept styling, the Beat is shaping up to be more than your average econo-beater. galleryPost('beattesting', 9, 'Chevy Beat Testing In The Desert');

The Detroit News is reporting group vice president and general manager for Toyota of the Americas, Bob Carter, has confirmed the 2010 Toyota Prius will be debuting at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show and will be joined by a uniquely styled and appointed version for Lexus. The Prius was set to move upmarket relative to its former iterations, but with a Lexus version now on the way, Toyota's own marketplace may be getting crowded. But the bigger story is how this news makes things far more interesting for January's Detroit Auto Show. galleryPost('ToyotaPriusSpy', 6, '2010 Toyota Prius Out Testing'); Jalopnik Snap Jugdement : Considering we'll be seeing two all-new dedicated hybrids from Toyota, the formal debut of the 2010 Honda hybrid , who knows what from Nissan , and with the first fully-formed Chevy Volt revealed just a couple months earlier, the 2009 Detroit Auto Show is setting up to be a serious, next-gen hybrid battle royal. More interesting to us, contrary to...

Alright, so there's this guy, Harvey Spivey, who's an efficiency expert. He lives the typical suburban life: wife, two kids, dog, minivan, self hatred. Basically, he's the total opposite of Edward Albright, a 2010 Chevy Camaro SS driving, multilingual, lethal operative. But get this: they share the same body . Whoa. galleryPost('myownworstenemy', 3, '2010 Chevy Camaro SS On Set'); If you're thinking this sounds like a great idea for a TV show, you're not alone. It's coming to NBC this fall starring Christian Slater. Knight Rider might have some competition. Revealed also are some more closer-up details of the new Camaro SS than those we were able to discern from the shots we saw of this very same Camaro SS on set of the new show . Check out the super thick A Pillar, blacked out grille and the centrally mounted hood scoop. [ My Own Worst Enemy via Camaro Z28.com ]

We've seen snaps of the interior on the 2010 Chevy Camaro before, but none as automatic transmission equipped as these. Camaro5 has got a series of some real nice up-close and personal images of the Camaro to be and things are looking pretty decent. We're still not real sure on the Playstation inspired controls under the head unit, but if GM is happy licensing designs from Sony we've got no problem with it. [via Camaro5 ]

Yesterday we took a trip out the sprawling campus of the GM Tech Center in Warren Michigan. The enormous Eero Saarinen designed complex has been recently upgraded with the Vehicle Tech Center, where we would be rubbing elbows with about eighty of the industries finest hacks and flacks for the day. The motor press had all descended on the complex for a rare glimpse inside the world of GM development, and not for just any car, but for the incredibly important and high profile Chevy Volt. The day would consist of four parts, all designed to prove the Volt wasn't just vaporware, but indeed reaching some level of technical completeness. First we would be paying a visit the all important battery lab, then the digital visualization center, a brief lunch — GM loves their potato salad by the way — and then a trip to the styling studio and finally the wind tunnel. After a brief intro to the world of the Chevy Volt and a lot of cheerleading about how fantastically unique the program...
