  • Are These The Most Memorable TV Cars? [Celebrities]

We occasionally see lists of the best television cars pop up on the Internet, and we always find ourselves at a loss to understand why people feel the need to limit themselves to just ten. A good list should probably come in closer to 30, so it's not just predictable choices like K.I.T.T. and the Batmobile . The list below isn't a bad attempt, though we're sad to see the Ferrari Daytona from Miami Vice didn't make the cut. Anything else missing? Top Ten Most Memorable TV Cars 10. The Beverly Hillbillies' Truck 9. Starsky's 1975 Ford Gran Torino 8. The Original Batmobile 7.1983 GMC G-Series A Team Van 6. Thomas Magnum's Ferrari 308 GTS From Magnum P.I. 5. The Flintstones' Flintmobile 4. The Vista Cruiser from That 70's Show 3. The Car From My Mother The Car 2. The Original K.I.T.T. 1. The General Lee [Internet Broadcasting via WKMG ]
  • KITT to be Cast as a Ford Mustang in New Knight Rider Series? [Knight Rider]

That's what we're hearing anyway. Although this may seem as rumortastic as they come, but we feel our source is solid -- he's a loyal Jalopnik reader with a validated connection to an LA FX studio working on the pilot for the new Knight Rider TV show. Our source is claiming he's got it on good authority that KITT's gonna be a Ford Mustang. Hey, maybe that takes care of that whole Mustang variant issue for 2009, right? In fact, maybe KITT'll even be a Roush Blackjack like the one p-shopped above and in the gallery below. We don't know -- but we're going to do some investigating. galleryPost('FordMustangKnightRider', 3, ' Could Blackjack Be The New KITT'); If this ends up being true -- Ford's totally gonna be pwning the General in this round of the Muscle Car Wars . In fact, it'd be an assault to all that GM holds true to see a 'stang as the pony car playing Michael's ride. We'll have to wait and see what we're able to...
  • Knight Rider: New Knight Rider TV Show To Be Transformers-Inspired?

We've already talked a bit about the new " Knight Rider " TV show, but we've got a new detail from Variety magazine. According to the magazine all about having a great plethora of stuff, NBC's tapped Doug Liman to produce the new "Knight Rider" TV show. Liman's recent executive production exploits have included "The Bourne Ultimatum" as well as Fox's "Arrested Development." But what's reall interesting is Liman's being tapped to "produce a " Transformers "-inspired reworking of the 1980s hit action-drama series." What the heck does that mean -- will K.I.T.T. transform? Oh wait, there's more: Success of "Transformers" had a role in inspiring NBC Entertainment chief Ben Silverman's decision to revive "Knight." The thinking is that smallscreen f/x have advanced to the point where it'd be feasible to have a weekly series in which cars shift shapes. It's also likely the new show will explore the idea of "evil" cars to offset the heroic talking K.I.T.T. car of the original skein, which starred...
