The most exciting car to debut at the Detroit Auto Show this January could well be the 2009 Mercedes McLaren SLR Stirling Moss. Hit the jump to see this beast in our gallery below. galleryPost('mclarenstirlingslrpho', 6, 'Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss Pictures'); galleryPost('slrmcalrenmosssket', 3, 'Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss Sketches'); The 2009 McLaren SLR Stirling Moss will officially make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month, but Mercedes decided to tease us with these shimmering photos of the last of the Mercedes-McLaren partnership. Designed with Stirling Moss’ 1955 300 SLR racer in mind, the 2009 SLR Stirling Moss kicks it up a notch. Based on the SLR Roadster, the Stirling Moss features carbon fiber bodywork wrapping an SLR722 -supplied 650-hp supercharged 5.5-liter V8 mated to a five-speed auto. As with the SLR722 , the Stirling Moss can reach a top speed of 217 mph and will reach 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The roofless Stirling...

Only 350 of the 2009 Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series supercars will ever be made, but that hasn't stopped one from appearing at the Pebble Beach Concours . The $320,000 Benz has a staggering 661 HP, but that's topped by the 6.0-liter V12's 738 lb.-ft of torque. galleryPost('2009MercedesSL65AMGBlackSeries', 12, 'SL65 AMG Black'); ( Thanks to J.F. The lens jockeys at KGP have managed to snag us a darn good look at the upcoming 2009 Mercedes Benz CLK . While we've seen the shape of the car before we haven't seen the new split-design headlights and the very bizarre trunk lid design. According to our spies, that headlight styling will be migrating across the Benzie lineup and acting as the new snake eyes for the E-class next. What we're not so sure about is the butt-end of this thing. The Germans may be having a tail war. galleryPost('09clkspy5', 9, '2009 Mercedes Benz CLK Dressed For Drag'); Take a look a that 'protrusion' poking off the trunk. It's not really a spoiler but not quite a Bangle-butt; however, it is strange looking. Unless the lid is plastic or composite, that's one hell of a stamping draw to make the thing. Also, we're not sure how we feel about the styled-by-Duplo tail lights. They really don't go well with the smooth style of the rest of the car. Funny, the spy didn't...

We love the Geländewagen for its anachronistic look, completely unnecessary performance and for managing to be the car of choice for both Britney Spears and the freaking Pope . Need we say more? And while a B-lister may be able to roll in a G500 , the true celeb wants the 507 HP G55 version because 0-to-60 in 5.5 seconds is better. Than what? Who cares. It's just better. "I'll pay for it. In cash. Oh, it's $190,000 (w/tax)? Can you throw in some accessories to put it above $200K? I never pay less than $200K for a car that's not for my nanny." Press release below the jump. galleryPost('09mbg55amg', 6, 'We Want To Pump You Up'); Classic with Added Appeal Affalterbach — Following its most recent makeover, the G 55 AMG from Mercedes-AMG is now even more attractive. Boasting an upgraded performance of 373 kW/507 hp, this offroad classic has also been given a fresh look, incorporating a reworked radiator grille and new 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels...

We've already brought you pictures of the 2009 Mercedes CLC covered with models for the Berlin Fashion Week. As we originally thought, the new version of the Sports Coupe isn't actually based on the new C-Class architecture but instead gets the visual enhancements to make it look like the rest of the line. In fact, they've enhanced or newly developed 1,100 components (which could mean suspension or could mean shift knob gasket). Engines include two turbodiesels, two four-cylinder mills and two six-cylinder engines mated either to a six-speed manual, five speed auto or the 7GTRONIC. Though not the most expensive model in Mercedes' line, it's an important one as 40% of Sports Coupe buyers moved up to a larger Mercedes such as the E-Class, CLK or SLK. Full press release below the jump. galleryPost('2009MercedesCLCP', 9, '2009 Mercedes CLC'); The new Mercedes-Benz CLC: Sports Coupé with fun factor Stuttgart - Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a stand-alone model...

We're running out of metaphors to describe the many ways that information, like water, leaks from automakers and bursts through embargoes. In this case it's a flood of pictures from the facelifted 2009 Mercedes SL, and we've got so many of them that we're tempted to start building a giant boat and filling it with pairs of animals. Yesterday it was just two quick glimpses of the 2009 SL 350 , today we get exterior and interior photos of the new luxovert. galleryPost('09mercslpre', 6, '2009 Mercedes SL 350'); It's still uncertain what's going on under the hood of the new Mercedes because no one has been nice enough to leak the press release (but that's bound to happen fairly soon). In the meantime, enjoy the cars and the smiley drivers MB trots out for these photos. [ Carscoop , World Car Fans ]

Aside from adding yet another word to it's name -- it's now known as either the 2009 Mercedes-Benz GLK Vision 320 CTDi Bluetec Freeside Concept, or the 2009 Mercedes-Benz GLK Vision 320 CTDi Blutec Townside Concept, the latter loses off-road pretensions -- the most notable thing to occur at this second official unveiling was the creepy flirting taking place between Dr. Z and Kim Catrall. Seriously, after watching Kim speak of her "admiration" of Dr. Z's "tight package" we had to put up with his promise to "show her around afterwards." Trust us, it sounds creepier in Gerglish. We had to leave when Dr. Z promised to "heat it up in here." If Ray wasn't such a slave driver, we'd be well on our way back to the hotel to take a scalding hot shower. galleryPost('glkexterior', 12, 'Mercedes GLK Vision Freeside Exterior Photos'); galleryPost('glkinterior', 6, 'Mercedes GLK Vision Freeside Interior Photos'...

We've already shown you the vanilla Mercedes SLK , and now we have photos of the facelifted AMG-tuned SLK 55. As we've already mentioned, the new SLK is fitted with the current model's 5.5-liter V8, which is good for 360 horsepower and will be mated to the 7G-TRONIC seven-speed auto transmission. With the exception of the exterior enhancements, the Mercedes engineers consider the AMG SLK 55 close to perfection. And why mess with perfection? Well, why mess with perfection until the next generation becomes the new perfection. All this can be yours for just under $100,000. Press release below the jump: galleryPost('09slkamg55ae', 3, '2009 Mercedes SLK 55 AMG'); 2009 SLK 55 AMG Edition The sporty credentials of the 2008 SLK generation are further enhanced by three modified powerplants that consume less fuel and, therefore, emit less CO2. The four-cylinder powerplant in the SLK 200 Kompressor and the six-cylinder sports engine in the SLK 350 both offer substantially...

The boys over at the Road that is not only bendy, it's Winding have snagged themselves some shots of what they're told is the 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK out on the mean streets o' Stuttgart. They've also been told the new CLK will look "more sporty" and "more luxurious" -- and the new model will still be built off the C-class platform. So rather than " aluminum und shteel ," is the new CLK " shporty und luxoorious ?" Maybe, but only if we get the hard-top version. [via Winding Road ]

Merc's given up on the US market for its entry-coupe. That means the next C-Class not-a-hatch will be Europe only. Apparently Dr. Z himself had to step in and save the coupe, which was destined for the dustbin. As such, the updated coupe will remain on...

It would appear, based on the shot above (and gallery below), Mercedes is actively working on the next generation CLK . It looks to be bigger and longer than the outgoing model as this new CLK (and we're assuming, CLK convertible) -- which we'd expect...
