Welcome, Everyone, to Njection.com
Welcome to Njection.com, a revolutionary site for the driving community. We provide an open forum for drivers and experts within the automotive field to share pictures, information, and their opinions on everything from the latest makes and models to where it's safest to test an engine. We look forward to connecting with all of you and make this site the best it can be. Njection is comprised of five main sections:
SpeedTrap Available now is Speed Trap, a web application hybrid mash up that combines Microsoft Live Maps along with the ability to pinpoint and review speed traps located anywhere on the planet. The information shared by its members is placed into a database and can be viewed by anyone. SpeedTrap allows the average driver to avoid being pulled over and slapped with a ticket by informing them of local and national speeding surveillance hotspots. Auto insurance companies and state government offices profit from speeding tickets and fines but by exchanging information via SpeedTrap drivers are given an edge on the system, allowing them to drive safely and vigilantly on nearly any road worldwide.
Blogs/Technical Contributors This section is a roundtable discussion available to every visitor to Njection.com. Technical Contributors are individuals who demonstrate an aptitude in their field of expertise about cars and want to share that knowledge with the public. Blogs allow a dialog between drivers and experts, opening up the lines of communication from a network of roads to the network of the internet.
Forums This section is subdivided by car, location and language for specialized discussions. Members can view information about cars they are interested in, ask questions, and explore what other people are saying about specific models. Want to know if investing in an '02 Explorer with a base XLS is the right move for you? This is the click you have to make before turning the key in the ignition.
Download This section is used to upload and download files to help you tune your car. You will find Engine Control Unit (ECU) maps and means for document dispersal and obtaining other technical specifications precisely tailored to you and your ride.
Calendar This section offers a list of events both specific to the United States as well as happenings worldwide. Each link within the calendar will bring direct you to a Web page with more information about the specific event listed.
If you have any questions about becoming a Technical Contributor, please use the contact forum below. Be sure to check out our new speed trap link (http://njection.com/speedtrap). Enjoy!
NASCAR has docked Dale Earnhardt Inc. driver Martin Truex Jr. 150 points and suspended crew chief Kevin Manion and car chief Gary Putnam for six races apiece for presenting a car that did not meet NASCAR’s roof template for inspection last week at Daytona International Speedway.
The point penalty may be a crushing blow to Truex’s [...]

Filed under: Motorsports , Auction Action , Japan Click above for a gallery illustrating what's on the block from Super Aguri. In the fast-paced world of Formula One, teams come and go. Only most of the time, they're just changing names and management (in fact, Ferrari and Williams are the only teams still on the grid that were founded under the same name and same ownership as they remain today). So Jordan Grand Prix, for a most vivid example, became Midland F1 Racing in 2006, then Spyker in 2007 before its metamorphosis into Force India for 2008. Super Aguri was another story. Founded by former racing driver Aguri Suzuki, the team was the first in years to actually put up the bond necessary to start a completely new entry. Unfortunately, the uniquely Japanese-named team never had the money it needed to succeed, and after a little over two years, the team folded . But not before millions upon millions were spent on cars, equipment and everything else. So what happened to all that...

Filed under: Hybrids/Alternative , Green , Chevrolet , GM Click above for a high-res gallery of the Chevrolet Volt concept. One of the many things General Motors boasted about when it unveiled the Volt concept at the Detroit Auto Show in 2007 was its 600-mile range. This was achieved partially by the battery pack, which could sustain a (theoretical) charge allowing the Volt to run for 40 miles without reverting to the gasoline engine/generator, as well as a 12-gallon fuel tank. According to Kicking Tires, GM has shrunk the size of the tank by an unknown quantity and the result is a reduction in range from 600 to 400 miles - or 360 miles without the aid of battery power. The General maintains that since most owners don't travel more than 40 miles in one day, it wasn't necessary to fit the Volt with a larger tank. That reduction in capacity will save some weight, but what will it cost in public perception? The hype surrounding GM's supposed savior and game-changer are based on...

Filed under: Car Buying , Government/Legal , Safety Click above to view video of the 2008 smart fortwo crash test Each year, it seems as if more and more new models are able to ace both the IIHS' and the government's crash-test ratings. In fact, according to Transportation Secretary Mary Peters, 97-percent of all new cars available today earn the highest four or five-star ratings from NHTSA. These all-too-similar ratings makes it rather difficult for consumers to make a choice based solely on passenger safety, so the Fed's have decided to take another stab at the current rating system, which was introduced way back in 1979. Though still based on a five-star ranking, the revised 2010 ratings will include additional front-end tests and a new side-impact test meant to mimic the impact of a vehicle that collides with a tree or pole. Also new for the '10 model year is an overall rating meant to make comparisons easier between competing vehicles. More changes are possible for...

As Kim Taylor was running down the hill beside her driveway, chasing after her red Mazda Miata, she couldn't help but be confused. She was sure she had put the parking brake on. And yet there was the little convertible, on its way to her neighbors' pool for a 40 MPH splashdown. We have a feeling this was just one of those days.( Thanks Chris ) [ York Daily Record via 11Alive ]
